2008 Ski Trip - Winterplace Ski Resort - Ghent, WV

Important Details and Deadlines:

The dates are: February 1-3 2008

Package per person includes:

  • 2 nights lodging
  • 1 lunch voucher
  • 1 dinner voucher
  • Rentals and Lift tickets for Saturday and Sunday
  • 1 commemorative hat/bag/scarf (yet to be chosen...but cool thing!)
  • Cost: $199 per person (Please make checks payable to St. John's)

Other important things:

  • All participants are expected to abide by the Diocese Covenant
  • All Participants are expected to worship
  • All Adults are roomed separately from the youth
  • 1 Adult per 5 youth is required.

Important deadlines:

  • Nonrefundable deposit of $55 per person due October 28th
  • Permission Forms due December 2nd
  • Final Payment due December 9th

Friday, February 1, 2008
4pm Depart St. John’s Episcopal Church, Shandon
Anytime before 10pm Check in AT Winterplace w/ Bryant for skis/ lift tickets Etc
10-11pm Friday night, arrive and check into hotel
Anytime before 11pm check in with Bryant for lift tickets and lesson tickets etc
10:45pm Group meeting (Mountaineer Conference Center)
11:15pm Coordinator’s meeting in the lobby of our hotel.

Saturday, February 2, 2008
6am-10am Continental breakfast
6:30am Morning Prayer
6:45am Depart for Winterplace (drive is 15 minutes) Rentals open at Winterplace
8am Slopes open
SKI ALL DAY— Lunch at slopes at the Winterplace (we will be given vouchers)
7:30pm Dinner is at Cracker Barrel (within walking distance from the hotel)
10-11pm Evening Worship at the Mountaineer Conference Center

6am-10am Continental breakfast
7:15am Morning prayer (Mountaineer Conference Center)
7:45pm Depart Hotel (slopes open at 8:00am) packed for the return home
Ski til Noon--- head home!

Senior High Fall Retreat


Come join us on October 20-21, 2007 and Experience Camp Gravatt like you never have before – because – “A lot can happen in one day!” This event will pack as much learning, worship, fun and games, and celebration into one full 24 hour period as is possible – and still provide for 8 hours of sleep time. We will explore three areas – wrestling with God, learning ways to carry out our mission to the fullest extent, and how we can live into the calling of the Great Commission.

We will gather at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 20 beginning with registration and followed by lunch. The rest of our activities will be packed into the next 8 hours before we crash for the night. Our day will begin again in earnest on Sunday morning until we conclude with lunch, which is scheduled to begin at 12:01 pm. All participants will depart following lunch.

All participants, youth and adult, must fill out an Individual Registration Form and pay the fee of $50. We will collect these forms and turn in a Congregational Registration Form and 1/2 of the fee no later than Friday, October 5th.

Check should be made payable to: EDUSC. For every 1 to 5 youth present, we will need at least one adult sponsor present who is expected to be at least 21 years old. For further information on policies and procedures or to download forms, please see the diocesan youth web site.
